Combining Art and Science

Combining art and science creates new energy – that is synergy...

Synergy gives us the works of artists and scientists, portrays their interweaving stories and reflects their parallel journeys through observation, imagination and creation. Initial unfamiliarity inspires a sense of awe, then learning, leading to understanding and a sharing of knowledge; this process a continuing collaboration between scientist and artist.

Within each discipline we all strive for knowledge and understanding, with a desire to contribute to the collective body of knowledge. Science searches for truth in our natural world through gathering facts and figures, whereas art looks for truth in portraying the world through the eye of the human condition. Synergy takes these processes, merges these parallels, and the energy created resonates long after the canvas is taken from the wall.
