Celeste Chandler

Celeste's and fellow artist, Andrew Dewhurst's, collaboration is with scientist Peter Nichols.

I make life size naked self-portraits in oil paint on linen.  The focus of my research is on the relationship between the embodied subject and the spectator, standing before the image.  I am particularly fascinated by the potential for paint to evoke the sensations of touching and being touched, of weight, heat and texture.
